Farm Gate
Code name of the USAF training and supporting mission in Vietnam, which began in October 1961. From the initial deployment of 155 airmen, 8 T-28s and 4 modified SC-47s, the numbers of both personnel and aircraft grew steadily until Farm Gate was merged into the 1st Air Commando Squadron in July 1963. During its existence 16 air commandos were killed.
